    1. It is always difficult to make clear who is number one is the Americas among Penarol-Boca-River. At least number of supporters could not determine level of all-time performance at all.
But River Plate is considered to have the most peak in history just refer to "The Great La Maquina" so this is the main advantage to Boca while Penarol also had a very peak in 1960s and it has lowest flaws among this three so I select them as number one.

Bayern ? If consider since 1965, I'd not hesitate to rank them in number two but it has to be ranked much lower in the whole history as it was just an average German team in the pre-war era. In another topic of the best seasonal teams of all-time, I rate Barcelona in twice seasons there more than several teams. Barcelona also had a high potential to win distinctive European Cup in 1st 1950s. Juve won five Series A in the 1st 1930s but they failed to win even Mitropa Cup and it is well-known to have lower continental profile than Milan and Barca.

Montediveo and Ah-Ahly ? Let me first try to believe whether its should be within top 150.

Naratorn Wirunhchatapant, what the hell you talkin about? Bayern has a worldclass team since the 1970's. In this century they win the European Champions Cup (former CL League) three times in a row and at that time Barca won nothing at all. So when you talk about "History of all time" then Bayern is very high on the list and i would also set it on second place after Real.

      Delete
    4. This list is based on entire history of club football ( from late 19th century till date)
Bayern came into domination only from 1965

    5. Anonymous9/27/2022

And Barca? They were a worldclass club before 1965? *lol* Barca all the time was an average club, since they were good for the first time only in the 90's, when Stoichkov and Romario played there. Before the 90's they were nothing, while Bayern won three European Cups in a row in the 70's. When only the time before 1965 counts, then half of the list is wrong and alot more south-american clubs must be inserted, cause this was the time when not all the best players come to Europe, because they were money-hungry.

  2. I believe you can not help but consider the amount of fans to determine the greatness of a club ... much more in South America where the most fervent fans ...

mouth has more fans, more championships, more classic and 0 drops to the second division ... no comparison between mouth and river plate ... the latter is more kid.

river and that machine only won 4 or 5 local championships, and when he went to play the South American tournament (Copa Libertadores precursor) came second .. Instead the mouth bianchi 1998-2004 ... won five local tournaments, 3 liberators, 2 intercontinental and has the record for most games unbeaten in the history of Argentina football.

creame in all South American juniors rankings mouth comes first ... 18 international cups and the 16 million fans who are making a difference ... and never a club like the first series PEÑAROL as it has just 1 million 500 thousand fans , 8 international cups and has no stadium ..... the 48 championships that have can not be counted as the quality of teams in the Uruguayan football is not the same as in the Argentine and Brazilian leagues

with respect to bayern munich ... in my opinion is much better than barcelona ... since it surpasses everything, absolutely everything.

say that it is previous to 1956 barcelona history is unacceptable, as the football clubs started to be competitive level from that year ... in any case can not be compared local leagues having barcelona bayern munich with.

    I meant Nacional (Uruguay)

Alhy and is the largest club of africa, with millions of fans and 18 international cups in my opinion ....

  4. Johan Cruyff greatest manager than Guardiola? Migueli in the starting lineup? I think that Puyol was better than Migueli. Laudrup and Neeskens in place of Xavi and Iniesta? Alves better than Sergi. My Barcelona's starting lineup with 4-3-3 will be: GK-Ramallets DF: Alves-Koeman-Puyol-Segarra MF:Schuster-Xavi-Iniesta FW: Ronaldinho-Ronaldo-Messi. Coach: Guardiola.

I'm a liverpool fan but it pains me to say that i, if i would be realistic think that manchester united is greater club than LFC. But i want to hear your reasons for putting liverpool in front, so i know what to say to defend liverpool next time when i get in a discussion. I'm sure you have good reasons. Just give me a reason and i will change my opinion.

    1. It is easy. Liverpool is clearly has a better European record, also participated in ten more English top flight seasons than Man Utd. In All-Time Table, Liverpool is stand at 1st while Man Utd is only 4th place. Man Utd is just slightly better in FA Cup and number of double/triple champions so I think it should be clear that Liverpool is definitely a superior in overall history.

  11. In the first half of the 90s the best team was the São Paulo

Champion Intercontinental Cup in 1992 and 1993, America's Libertadores champion in 1992 and 1993, Brazilian champion in 1991, champion of the Libertadores Supercopa in 1993, champion of the Recopa Sudamericana in 1993 and 1994, Champion Conmebol Cup in 1994 and champion São Paulo in 1991 and 1992.

It was clearly better than Cruyff Barcelona, Marseille and Milan

The team should be first and you have to correct this error

  12. Boca Juniors in the second half of the decade of 00 was better than milan

    2004-2007

Champion of the Copa Libertadores (2007), Twice champion of the South American Cup (2004 and 2005), Twice champion of the Recopa Sudamericana (2005 and 2006) and Argentine Twice (2005 - Apertura and 2006 - Clausura). It was the first (and so far only) team to win the South American Cup twice in a row

    It deserves the 1st place

    1. I understand you're referring to the mid-2000s (2004 - 2006) according to the period time stipulation in this list. Based on this period, they just achieved Copa Libertadores Cup runner-up once time. Sao Paolo won one champion and runner-up once but it could not be compared number and level of trophies between continents directly as UEFA Champion League is much higher standard than Copa Libertadores Cup. But still, I need to Add Sao Paolo in top three as they even beat Liverpool in World Club Cup.

Arsenal, rated by you as world's best in the 1930's never managed to beat Rangers during that period in the unofficial British champions matches. perhaps food for thought.

I think that Gerrard should be in the best Liverpool player ever. And that is using your calculations. He is better in domestic competitions, slightly behind Dalglish in int. club comp. but Dalglish didn't spend his whole career in Liverpool so part of his score comes from Celtic.

  27. Hi, your all-time XI´s have big mistakes. I know, I know, many choices can be a matter of taste or formation but you have too many outrageous, ridiculous choices.
1- Figo in R. Madrid is a terrible choice. Amancio is the one but you can choose Míchel, Kopa, Juanito... even Beckham left a better impression than Figo. He was truly great at Barcelona.
2- Aragonés MUST be in Atlético´s XI, he lead the club to a Champions Cup final and a lot more. H. Sánchez had only one memorable season and inmediately left for R. Madrid, similar case to Falcao. Gárate, Torres, Kiko and Griezmann had all a far better weight in the team.
3- Are you seriously putting Neeskens role in Barça´s history above Xavi, Iniesta, Guardiola, Schuster, L. Suárez, Basora, Busquets........etc etc?

I don´t know as much about the rest but it looks similar. Again, these aren´t optional things, like chosing Cristiano or Puskas, Santillana or Butragueño..., these are big mistakes that make your overall research work less valid. You seem to have put a great deal of effort into this so you should pay attention to the big no-no´s. Great blog, though. I´d appreciate it if you put the XI pic in a bigger size cause it´s really difficult to read most of the names. Constructive criticism. Cheers.

    1. OK, I chose Figo because I was too impressive with his first season with Madrid which he won FIFA World Player of the year. Amancio has a better legend status for the club but I change formation and open space for Puskas to be a starter. Hierro and S.Ramos has replaced Quincoces and Chendo, respectively.

I agree to name Aragones as a starter replace H.Sanchez after I read article about him. Aragones is one of the most iconic players in history of the club and I really miss such an important knowledge.

Neeskens is selected for tactical reason as he could play as DM.

Anyway, thanks you for helping on this developing All-Time XI formations.

  28. I think Juventus fans much prefer Nedved to Zidane.

Surely, also Puyol, Xavi and Iniesta should get into the Barca XI, since they were part of by far the most successful Barca team. Cruyff didn't spend his best years at Barca.

  33. I won't debate your choice. Every person will see slightly differently I suppose. I only came here to remind you that the Brazilian Side you have mentioned have defeated back to back in the Intercontinental Cup in Tokyo, the Barcelona Dream Team managed by Cruyff of 1992 and the CAPELLO AC Milan that dominated Europe in the 90's.

In the Early 2000's São Paulo once again took Steven Gerrard's Liverpool to get their 3rd World Title.

This list must have been made by an Italian or what? Juventus on third place hahaha, the biggest joke of all time. How many times had Juve won the Champions League? Only twice! I repeat, only twice!!!! And for example, Bayern Munic, which is ONLY in 6th place here in this list, has won it six times. Ajax has won it 4 times, for example. So how can Juventus and also Inter be ahead of such clubs as Bayern or Ajax here???? Tell me!!!! Come to reality, whoever made this list, but please come into REALITY my friend. The list how it is now is fooling people. Realistic is something like this here:
    (1) Real
    (2) Bayern
    (3) AC Milan
    (4) Barca
    (5) Ajax
    (6) Manchester United
    (7) Liverpool
    (8) Inter
    (9) Juventus
    (10) Porto or Benfica or Chelsea
